Alpha-Fox Status

Lately we have had a lot of issues with the Alpha-Fox server Daedalus. As such, we (meaning I) have come up with a solution.

All DNS has been removed from the server. We encountered a problem with the current DNS servers and are planning a move to a better one. The server has been backed up, and is being reinstalled from scratch. This should solve a lot of network address problems we have had, as well as issues with other services on the server.

I also plan on resetting the router and setting everything up from scratch, making sure to take necessary precautions. As a final measure, I am creating a script that will run, every 5 minutes on the server, to update the IP address with SEVERAL sources. This will of course check the IP address to make sure it doesn't update a fake one (yes, I'm looking at you router that updated a default IP address).

I'm really sorry for all the inconvenience this has caused people -- and I hope to be back up in full force soon. Updates will be posted as I have them.
